This is an EXCEPTIONAL Mer's Sales Co. fountain pen.  Here are the facts about this pen:

  • Manufacture:  Unknown but maybe Aikin Lambert for Mer's sales Co
  • Model:  Fountain pen
  • Body & cap material:  Ebonite body and cap
  • Body & cap finish:  Black chased hard rubber body and cap
  • Trim:  Gold lever, nickel chrome accommodation clip
  • Nib size:  Fine (see writing sample photo)
  • Nib material:  14kt gold
  • Filling system: Lever filler
  • Condition:  This pen is a bit of a mystery. It is imprinted Mer's Sales Company Minneapolis.  It does not look like an advertising pen imprint and more like a house brand pen imprint made for the company.  It has an Aikin Lambert nib on it but the lever doesn't look like an Aikin Lambert lever.  So I'm not sure if Aiken Lambert made it for Mer's Sales Co. or somebody else made it with an Aikin Lambert nib.  This pen is pre-owned and in exceptionally clean condition with just very light micro-scratches from age and light use.  No dents, dings, chips, cracks, wear or damage.  Very crisp, clear chasing.  Excellent color.  No personalization.  Crisp, clear Mer's Sales Co, imprint.  Exceptional gold lever and clean chrome accommodation clip with some wear and spots.  Very clean Aikin Lambert 14kt nib with good point with some wear but writes well.  The pen has a new sac installed and fills and writes very well
