Wonderful matched pair of antique wooden bentwood dry measures manufactured by E. B. Frye & Son of Wilton, New Hampshire.
Included are both the 2 Quart and 1 Quart measures, each retaining their original black stenciled "DRY MEASURE" markings. The larger measure retains the interior maker's stamp reading:

Constructed from steam-bent wood with copper-riveted lap seams, these measures were originally used for accurately measuring grain, seed, feed, flour, and other dry commodities. Today they make exceptional display pieces for primitive kitchens, country stores, farmhouse collections, and early American agricultural displays.

An increasingly difficult pair to find together, especially with original maker identification.
Very good antique condition with honest age and use. Both measures retain their original stenciled lettering and exhibit attractive natural patina. The bentwood construction remains solid with expected age-related wear, minor surface scratches, small edge losses, and light separation typical of antique wooden measures. The maker's stamp inside the larger measure remains visible though partially faded.
