Authentic antique wire-rim bifocal eyeglasses complete with their original Bange Bros. Opticians case from Hanover, Pennsylvania. The spectacles feature classic round lenses, flexible cable temples that wrap comfortably behind the ears, and adjustable nose pads typical of quality optical frames from the early twentieth century.
The frames are unmarked, but the design strongly suggests manufacture during the 1915–1935 era. They retain their original prescription bifocal lenses and make an excellent addition to an optical collection, historical display, reenactment, or steampunk wardrobe.
The original optician's case is embossed in gold:
BANGE BROS. Opticians
15 West Chestnut St.
Hanover, Pa.
A wonderful survivor from a small-town American optician.
Good antique condition. Frames show age-related wear and patina consistent with over 90 years of use. Original prescription bifocal lenses exhibit light scratches and should be replaced if intended for modern wear. The cable temples remain intact. The original Bange Bros. case shows heavy exterior wear, losses to the covering, and interior wear, but remains functional and displays well. Please examine all photographs carefully as they are part of the description.
