Elegant vintage Mexican sterling silver brooch, circular in form with softly oxidised turquoise tones and graceful mid-century modern lines. with lapis in the rays
The reverse bears the Eagle 3 assay mark, historically registered to Margot de Taxco’s atelier in Taxco, Mexico. While unsigned by Margot has eagle 3 and initials , the design and construction are consistent with the fine handwork of silversmiths trained in Margot’s workshop during the 1950s–1970s.
Beautifully detailed with smooth, sculptural relief and subtle patina that highlights the raised design. The green tones visible in the middle recesses are natural silver oxidation, not added enamel or inlay but it's possible the green dots are someyekse but untested
A superb example of authentic Taxco artistry — refined, balanced, and wearable — representing the continuing influence of Margot de Taxco’s celebrated modernist style.

A timeless mid-century collectible from one of Mexico’s most admired silversmithing traditions — full of character and craftsmanship.
Her real name was Margot van Voorhies Carr.
She worked in Taxco during the 1940s–1970s, designing elegant, highly stylised silver and enamel jewelry.
Margot was originally married to Antonio Castillo (of Los Castillo fame), then opened her own workshop, signing “Margot de Taxco.”
After the Mexican government introduced the eagle system in 1948, her registered number became Eagle 3.
