Vintage Original 35mm Kodachrome Slide: Downtown Tonopah Nevada Tonopah Club & Ace Club
Location: Downtown Tonopah, Nevada.
Date: No date imprint; Kodachrome red-border mount with two lines of type was in use 1950-1955.

Item Description
This vintage Kodachrome slide captures a bright early-1950s street scene in downtown Tonopah, Nevada. The view looks along a wide commercial street lined with stone and brick buildings, parked mid-century automobiles, and several visible business signs, including “Tonopah Club,” “Kendall Rooms,” and “Ace Club.” A man in a light shirt and hat crosses the street in the foreground, while older cars line the curb and a steep desert hill rises behind the town. The scene has a strong Nevada mining-town and roadside-travel atmosphere, with the casino, lodging, cafe, and club signage anchoring the view.

Key Photographic Elements
This image is especially appealing as an early-1950s view of Tonopah’s downtown business district. Tonopah was an important Nevada mining town and later a well-known stop for travelers crossing the central part of the state, and this slide preserves the period look of its main commercial street. The Tonopah Club, Ace Club, Kendall Rooms sign, parked cars, stone-front buildings, desert mountain backdrop, and pedestrian in the street all create a strong documentary streetscape. The two-line red-border Kodachrome mount places the slide in the 1950-1955 period, making it a desirable subject for Tonopah, Nevada mining-town history, vintage casinos, roadside travel, downtown street scenes, and mid-century automobile collectors.

Condition Report
This is an original 35mm Kodachrome transparency in a red-border cardboard mount with two lines of type, with no written date or location inscription. The slide has good color, strong daylight exposure, and readable central signage, with the Tonopah Club, Ace Club, Kendall Rooms, parked cars, buildings, pedestrian, and desert hillside all clearly visible. There are visible dust specks, small surface marks, and minor edge wear typical of an unrestored early Kodachrome slide, especially in the sky and open street areas. Overall, the slide remains attractive, readable, and very presentable, with excellent identified Tonopah street-scene and Nevada roadside subject matter.
