This wonderful fish shaped Glug Jug is original 1960s/70s French vintage Art Pottery and is beautifully designed and glazed in glossy blues and browns. Much smaller than most of these jugs, it would be a wonderful addition to a collection.
Almost certainly made by Alphonse Mouton ceramics in Eastern France. Made from white stoneware clay fired at very high temperatures known as Grès Flammes Grand Feu
A typical mid 20th Century design, it would make a charming decorative piece in a bathroom or mantle piece. It will look attractive on display on a credenza or modernist shelving unit or room divider with a colourful collection of period art pottery and art glass.
