Description

A genuine early 19th-century engraved map of Buckinghamshire, originally engraved by William Ebden and published by James Duncan. This attractive county map includes the Hundreds, principal roads, rivers, canals, market towns and parliamentary divisions, together with the changes introduced by the Reform Bill. The map is both decorative and historically significant, illustrating Buckinghamshire during a pivotal period of parliamentary reform. The Ebden/Duncan county atlas series was produced in the early 1830s to reflect the new electoral arrangements following the Reform Act.

Presented in a traditional gilt-effect frame with a burgundy mount, making it ready to display in a study, library, office or period home.

Good antique condition for its age. The map displays age-related toning together with original fold lines as expected. There are some minor marks and age wear visible, adding to its authentic antique character. The frame has light cosmetic wear consistent with age and use.
