As a single‑unit (standalone) device, the PoC‑AT1 can be paired with the Ola Radio mobile app, enabling full bidirectional communication between the radio and your smartphone. You can talk and listen directly through the app, join groups, and manage contacts—perfect for inviting friends, family, or colleagues into private one‑to‑one calls or group chats. Add more radios up to 1,000 per group.

PoC radios rely on cellular data and a supported PoC platform. They are not suitable for off‑grid use where there is no network coverage. For emergency preparedness, PoC radios are best used alongside traditional RF radios rather than as a complete replacement.

During our testing, we found that only certain SIM cards are currently compatible with this radio. We have raised the issue with Baofeng regarding some of the incompatible SIMs and hope that future firmware updates will improve compatibility.
