Awesome vintage AIWA Stereo 990 Boombox from 1980

Model: TPR-990 or TPR-990H

Made in Japan - this was a high end boombox and was AIWA's flagship model, with all the best features they could squeeze into a portable stereo system.  It is heavy and well built, with an excellent quality tape mechanism with adjustable bias and eq for tape types including Metal tape.  It also has aux and phono inputs

At present it works nicely aside from the tape deck - great for listening to radio, or using the aux or phono inputs.  Would make a great restoration project

Tape deck not working - buttons move but do not click in place and nothing happens whicn pushed - probably just needs belts I haven't taken it apart to check.  Radio, aux and phono inputs all working nicely.  The left speaker grille has some rusty patches which were touched up with silver paint at some stage and looks pretty awful, but should come up great if re-sprayed properly.  The trim piece on the side next to the left speaker is bent at the bottom.  on of the antenae has a bend/dent
