Center medallion depicts a blooming nigella flower

Rim adorned with classical Chinese and Buddhist themes, including the conch shell (representing Buddha’s teachings),  eyeglasses (representing the All-Seeing Eyes) and a pagoda (representing the Three Jewels).

Decorated using cobalt underglaze.

Delft and other tin-glazed pottery were popular types of earthenware during the 18th century in Europe, before the rise of porcelain across the continent.
