Vintage Sterling Oval Bolo Tie Kingman Turquoise Herbert Begay Navajo
Here's an exceptional older bolo tie with a classic design. On a heavier gauge sterling silver base, the artist set two turquoise stones that are separated by elaborate silver work: handmade flower and fan; curled flat silver wire, and silver dots. The outer frame is hand stamped. The turquoise stones look like they're from the Kingman Mine in Arizona, but we cannot verify their origin.
The bolo slide is 1 3/8" wide and 1 7/8" tall.
For comparison, the largest of the two turquoise stones is 1/2" by 3/8".
The leathers are 4 mm thick and 37" long (including the tips). The silver tips are 1 3/4" long.
It weighs 34 g.
The artist stamped his name on the back, a cursive "Herbert Begay", a Navajo silversmith.
