VTG Sterling Butterfly Pendant Inlay Turquoise Coral Native American Signed
Here's a wonderful medium-sized butterfly pendant from the 1970s. On a sterling silver base, the artist inlaid pieces of turquoise, coral, and yellow shell to create the pattern. Very thin pieces of onyx or jet were used to create the inlay channels. Silver wire and silver dots create the antennae and add accents to the body.
The pendant is 2 1/2" wide and 1 3/4" tall.
The opening of the bail is a little larger than 1/8".
It weighs 23.8 g.
The artist's hallmark is an etched "Tom Cowboy" and is one of many pieces from this collection made by this artist. Tom Cowboy is a Navajo artist that lived in Zuni, New Mexico during the 1970's.
