Rare Morrow Pivot II portable computer in nice cosmetic condition.

Condition:

The computer powers on, gives the normal startup beep, and boots to the built-in World Map screen. LCD display is clear and keyboard responds.

While exploring the system menus, after approximately 10–15 minutes of operation, smoke emitted from the top vents. The computer was immediately unplugged. Afterward, I briefly powered it on again to verify operation, and it still successfully booted to the World Map startup screen. I have not operated it further since. My guess is that a power capacitor needs replaced but this is just a guess and hopefully somebody with more knowledge than me can fix this.

I did not verify floppy drive operation and cannot confirm whether the drives read or write disks. They should be considered untested.

The interior is exceptionally clean in my opinion with and I did not find any obvious burned components visible during inspection but because of the smoke event I am selling this computer AS-IS for repair, restoration, or parts with no guarantees and no returns.

Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the description. This is an increasingly hard-to-find vintage portable computer and would make an excellent restoration candidate for a collector.
