1853 (Aug. 1), Franked Cover from Rovereto, Tyrol to Desenzano, Lombardo-Venetian Kingdom. Franked with a single 1850 3kr red Coat of Arms, handmade paper issue, featuring close margins to slightly cut into at the bottom left corner where it wraps over the bottom edge. The stamp is tied by a clear, two-line ROVERETO / 1. AUG. straight-line dispatch handstamp. Addressed to Signora Giuditta Polidoro in Desenzano, the reverse panel shows a two-line DESENZANO / 3 AGO. arrival transit cancel alongside contemporary manuscript notes tracking its 1853 docketing year. The outer cover is clean and structurally stable, without internal contents, exhibiting standard minor age toning and a light horizontal folding crease away from the main strike.
This domestic cover documents the fluid postal relations between the Austrian crown land of Tyrol and the neighboring Kingdom of Lombardo-Venetia during a critical window of imperial consolidation. Mailed during the height of the summer in 1853, the piece was processed under the standardized tariff structures instituted across the Habsburg domains following the 1850 postal reforms. Sent from Rovereto, a strategic commercial and cultural hub in southern Tyrol known for its silk production, the cover represents the routine yet highly monitored communication links maintained with Desenzano, an important port town situated on the southwestern shore of Lake Garda. SHIPPING
Shipping is by regular mail $1.99 for Canada and USA and $2.99 for rest of the world. This shipping rate is for up to 3 items. For 4-6 lots it is an additional $1 and for every multiple of 3 lots beyond 6 it will be an additional $1. If a buyer has bought multiple lots he/she may elect to have them sent as multiple shipments by regular mail with each shipment not exceeding $100. Please note that in some cases the shipping may be slightly higher due to the fact that the item is oversize. If it has to be mailed in a 8.5 x 11 size envelope the shipping rate is an additional $1 then the quoted rates. All shipments valued over $100 including shipping will be sent by Registered mail for an additional $12 to the regular mail rate total. The maximum amount per shipment is $500 (including shipping). Any purchases higher than this total amount will be invoiced separately and paid for and shipped separately. Any additional items sent separately will be at a shipping cost calculated on the same basis as the first shipment. Any single item valued at over $250 or multiple items shipped together valued over $700 sent outside of the USA or Canada are to be sent by expedited mail (signature option) exact shipping costs to be determined but please expect it to be in excess of $60. These shipping requirements are not negotiable and are based on the current eBay and Paypal policy which provides no seller protection for fraud or theft above these amounts. For the following countries all shipments valued at over $60 may be sent by Registered mail unless you are a repeat customer. These currently include Mexico, Romania, Russia, China, Brazil, Israel, Turkey Thailand and any other country that the seller at his sole discretion determines to be high risk. Please note that for Registered mail we actually charge significantly below our cost for shipping.
Please note that in an auction items may start at a very low price and may be sold at prices that may considerably exceed the original starting bid. For the purposes of calculation of shipping costs the final cost of the item will be used to calculate the shipping rate and method of shipping NOT the original shipping cost specified in the listing.

SHIPPING TIME
All items are sent within 5 business days of receipt of payment. It then takes approximately 1-2 weeks (sometimes longer) for the postal system to make it’s delivery. If you receive a notice from eBay stating that the item has been shipped it may not be correct. Please look at your payment date and add 5 business days and contact us only if your item has not been received 2 weeks from this date.
