Arguments with England: A Memoir, written Michael Blakemore, is a 404 page, 6 1/2 X 9 1/2 inch hardcover book published by Faber and Faber Limited, London. The copyright date is 2004 and this is a first edition: the printing number line on the copyright page starts with "1." The author has signed (first name only) dated and inscribed the book on the title page: "For Lee (Wilkof) - Break a leg Tonight! And thank you once again for another fine performance." Blakemore also wrote ""Democracy"/Brooks Atkinson Theatre/18 Nov. 2004" at the bottom of the page. Democracy, directed by Blakemore, premiered on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on that date, and Lee Wilkof played the role of Gunther Nollau in the production. The show was nominated for the Tony Award and Drama Desk Award as Best Play.

The book is in very good condition in a very good unclipped dustjacket, with black boards, yellow spine titles and pale gray endpapers.

The textblock edges are lightly toned, with some foxing. The dustjacket (in new, protective Brodart) has very light edgewear, no stains, chips, or tears. No unpleasant odors.
