Item Description:
Impressive vase made of green glass with an internal white opaline glass layer, entirely molded and crafted by hand, dating back to the 1980s. The vase represents a splendid example of Central European postmodern glassmaking, faithfully attributed to the design of the renowned Polish master Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz for the Huta Szkła Tarnowiec factory. The vase stands out for its extraordinary formal display, characterized by a sculptural mushroom-like silhouette enhanced by the complex two-tone cased glass technique. This specific artisanal process, entirely mouth-blown and freehand molded, masterfully combines an internal layer of pure, opaque milky white glass with an external covering of meadow green crystal, creating an effect of profound volumetric luminosity. Embellishing the central body are two distinctive decorative handles, hot-applied in clear crystal and crafted with a dynamic curled motif, an iconic element and true trademark of the designer's style. Standing a remarkable 30 centimeters tall, with a diameter of 15 centimeters and a solid weight of 1.137 kilograms, the object features no engraved signature on the base, a technical feature that confirms its complete authenticity, as the glassworks of the time marketed their products exclusively with factory-issued paper labels, which often peeled off and got lost over the years, as likely happened with our vase.
Useful information for evaluating the object:
To give an idea of the value of this vase, our online research has revealed that the demands for the manufacturer's most important vases and the designer's exhibition results maintain a high level of excellence on the international modern antiques market. European auction houses such as Xanadu and Artessia regularly fetch prices for Słuczan-Orkusz's two-tone or hot-applied sculptural vases, typically ranging between €100 and €600 depending on their size and craftsmanship. On high-end and luxury platforms such as Pamono, a structurally identical vase, but crafted in a single-tone red, is selling for close to €300, with the listing title "Glass vase by Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz for Tarnowiec, 1980s." Our example, however, boasts a higher market value than the solid-color variants, precisely because of its exquisite and more sophisticated two-tone white-and-green incamiciato workmanship, combined with its impeccable state of preservation, free of cracks or chips. We believe its estimated value lies in the €300 to €500 range, making it a highly desirable collector's item for interior designers and admirers of late-20th-century art glass.
About the artist and/or manufacturer:
Huta Szkła INCO-Tarnowiec, founded in 1975 in Tarnowiec, Poland, was one of the most famous and influential art glassworks in Poland in the second half of the last century. The factory achieved its greatest artistic successes and international resonance primarily during its partnership with the renowned designer Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz, who served as the company's chief designer between 1982 and 1991. During this prolific decade, the glassworks specialized in the creation of sculptural objects characterized by the vibrant use of color, the introduction of bold geometric forms, and the use of decorative heat-applied handles. Today, the Tarnowiec glassworks's historic production, and in particular Słuczan-Orkusz's unique designs, is historicized at museum level and housed within important permanent collections such as those of the National Museums in Kraków and Wrocław, confirming the brand's prestige and high historical value in the European collecting scene.

OUR COMMERCIAL POLICY
Aware that we operate in the eBay market, our prices are often lower than the prices at which very similar objects are offered on other online sales platforms, the prices at which they are offered by art galleries in cities such as Rome, New York or London and also the best auction results achieved by similar objects, which, overall, can give an indication of the value of the object, while lower auction results or sales at low prices, by inexperienced sellers who do not know the real value of the object, should, in our opinion, be considered as a stroke of luck for the buyer rather than an indication of the value of the object. The price we ask is always the lowest possible considering how much was paid for the object and the eBay commissions (for the sale, payment and any currency exchange: from a minimum of 15% to a maximum of 21%, depending on the country in which the object was sold) because we prefer to retain many customers by earning less on the single object, focusing on quantity.

For each object there may be multiple advertisements in different countries: USA, Italy, France, United Kingdom, etc. Any price differences are due only to changes in the exchange rate of the various currencies between when we made the advertisement and when you see it.

The cost of packaging is also calculated in the shipping cost, and everything has increased by 19% because both ebay and paypal also take fees on the shipping cost.

OUR SHIPMENTS:
.Our shipments cost a little more than the average, but they are all shipments with professional packaging. Double box with a lot of bubble wrap around the object and a lot of soft material in the large cavities on all sides between the two boxes. This means that the package is much larger and heavier and therefore the cost of shipping increases, not to mention all the work necessary to carry out a similar packaging and the cost of the various materials used.
