Conchiglie Shells Seashells Cypraea Conus Voluta Murex mirkoguardiani

Callistocypraea broderipii

Live collected, from old collection a beautiful giant and super Heavy, thick-walled "inflated" form with his 107 grams!! Extremely calloused and thickened, showing the high maturity of the specimen. Unique raised white spots/pustules are present along the margins, a sought-after feature in deep-water South African specimens. Clean, uniform cream/orange base. Both anterior and posterior canals are clean with tiny flaws and match the brown base color, the shell possesses a superb natural high-gloss "porcelain" luster. There is a very minor, superficial growth mark/scratch on lateral side and a tiny predator attack that you can see on photos reglazed by animal, which is masterfully concealed within the complex reticulated pattern and does not detract from the overall display quality. This is a heavy, "gerontic" specimen of the rare Broderip’s Cowry. At 94,4 mm, it is a massive size for the species and near the World Record. The combination of the size weight, and the clear reticulated pattern makes this a top-tier investment piece for serious Cypraeidae collectors. Collected during the peak years of South African deep-water dredging (mid-2000s). For the quality we can grade as fine+++ for the reason precedently described, but is very rare to get so nice at this race. Please consider the weight of this shell that is very rare, normally the giant specimens are little bit elongate and not fully mature, this one is a standout specimen with great rounded shape and calloused margins
