This is a nice, original intelligence report (VUNC) which is a summary/precis of news and events in the Eastern world. Voice of the United Nations Command (VUNC) was a psychological warfare broadcasting operation established in the early 1950s. Although ostensibly tied to the United Nations, it was primarily a US Army operation utilized to broadcast soft propaganda and news to North Korean and Chinese troops during and after the Korean War. Normally contains translations of Korean, Mandarin and Cantonese sources. Dates are of the week of June 16-22, 1957, organized day-by day. Produced by the United States Psychological Warfare Division, Far East, APO 500. Original item, NOT a reprint or reproduction.
This item and subsequent items we are listing were acquired from the estate of a officer that served in the Psychological Warfare Department during the Korean and Cold war. This officer has also possessed propaganda/PSYOPS documents from earlier and later parts of the Cold War including World War II and from early in the Vietnam War. This document was at the time not a publicly available item.
The booklet measures 8" x 13" and contains 8 pages.
There is some mild surface discoloration to edges of last page and feather creases by stapled corner.
