Austria Hungaria empire Solid Silver Pierced Shell serving spoon  marked HS 800 fine

Presented is a great sserver hallmarked with a makers mark of H.S with a mark for 800 fine Austro-Hungarian solid silver circa 1890. American standard silver is 925, so there is slightly less silver in this alloy. I have placed pictures of my research in the photos above. This great sugar caster has an excellent scrolling leaf decoration down the handle with a great cameo on the end with no monogram in a scrolling leaf frame. The bowl of the ladle is a pierced sieved scallop shell flared rim bowl with a shell motif modeled drop. This beautiful ladle has no dents or dings and only some fine scratches from gentle use and care and no monogram. This is a well-crafted and useful item, excellent for the collector of antique silver.
