FORWARD: I'm sure you've all seen these B&K tube tester listings... "Powers On", "Lights Up", "Works!!" You can certainly buy one of those if you don't care about accuracy. If you want an accurate B&K tube tester it has to be fully serviced and calibrated. There are no short cuts. Nearly all of these vintage B&K tube testers are terribly inaccurate and need servicing/calibrating after 50-60 years of non-use. This makes up around 95% of the B&K tube testers for sale on ebay. Keep that in mind as you shop for a tube tester because trust me it isn't worth the wasted time, wasted money, and massive frustration you'll go through if you buy one of those "bargains" you see on ebay. Spend a little more money and buy one that is plug and play ready. You'll never regret it.

Here we have another classic B&K Dyna Jet 606 tube tester fully serviced & plug/play ready.

In case you're wondering (which I'm sure you are) the only reason this tester is priced much lower than my normal 606 tester's is because the wooden case is missing it's top cover, and the unit is well used. The wooden top cover was broken so I removed it and made this unit into a convertible. The original handle is in excellent condition for carrying it around but these are small and lightweight testers anyway. If you plan to set this up and leave it there then a cover is only in your way anyhow.

However, don't get it twisted, this 606 tests tubes just as good and just as accurate as my others that sell in the $350-$500 range if you can deal with a missing top cover and a little wear and tear/scratches.

It is nearly impossible to beat the B&K Model 606 tube tester for ruggedness, extreme simplicity, accuracy, and dependability and that explains their massively popularity with tens of thousands of these units still in operation today after 60 years.

Services performed:

All electrolytics replaced.

Any resistors out of factory specs were replaced.

Meter capacitor replaced for the smooth accurate needle movement.

All tube sockets, switches, and controls were cleaned & lubricated with DeOxit.

Full standard calibration.
