The front features a rich, atmospheric reproduction of an Old Master style oil painting depicting peasants playing cards and drinking inside a 17th-century Dutch tavern. It is finished with a smooth gold gilded rim. The base clearly bears the official Elizabethan backstamp highlighting it as "Hand Decorated".
