1927 Gorham Silver Soldered 8 Oz Individual Coffee / Tea Pot - Creamer

Engraved “NYC” Monogram — Railroad Estate Provenance

Offered here is a handsome 1927 Gorham silver soldered electroplated 8 oz individual coffee or tea pot creamer , bearing an ornate engraved interlocking “NYC” monogram on the front.

The underside is clearly marked:

* GORHAM
* Gorham anchor trademark
* 1927 date symbol
* EP
* SILVER SOLDERED
* 03550
* 8 OZ

This is a substantial early 20th-century commercial service piece with a beautifully balanced form, hinged lid, sculpted handle, pedestal foot, and a graceful pouring spout. The craftsmanship and profile are far more refined than ordinary later hotel plate.

Possible Railroad Connection

This piece was purchased from an estate sale in Moriches, New York. According to the estate family, the owner’s grandfather worked for the railroad. The engraved monogram appears to read “NYC,” and period Gorham records show that the company produced silver service pieces for railroad clients during this era, including New York Central-related work.

That said, I cannot conclusively document that this specific pot came from a dining car or was issued by New York Central Railroad, so it is being offered exactly as shown: a 1927 Gorham silver soldered 8 oz service pot with an NYC monogram and railroad-family estate provenance.

For railroadiana collectors, hotel silver collectors, Gorham collectors, or anyone drawn to early institutional dining ware, this is a particularly appealing piece with a strong look and an intriguing backstory.

Condition

The pot displays honest age-appropriate wear from use and time, including surface scratching, scattered tarnish, and areas of plating wear/discoloration visible in the photos. The monogram remains crisp and attractive. The hinged lid opens and closes properly. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are part of the description.
