Shure SM7dB Dynamic Vocal Microphone

The Shure SM7dB is the next evolution of Shure’s classic large diaphragm dynamic microphone. Featuring a custom Shure-designed built-in preamp with technology licensed from Cloud, the SM7dB expands the capabilities of the SM7 while retaining the sound that made it iconic. With up to +28 dB of additional gain, the SM7dB is engineered to meet the needs of professional podcasters, streamers and vocalists in a convenient package with no sonic compromises.

MORE GAIN, BETTER PERFORMANCE

The SM7dB’s internal preamp delivers a selectable +18 or +28 dB of crystal clear gain. Tuned by Shure’s expert engineers specifically for the SM7dB, the new preamp makes it easier than ever to get the SM7 sound in demanding applications. Whether you’re recording quiet vocals or spoken word, the SM7dB excels in any situation where high performance and low noise are required.

SIMPLER SETUP IN A CONVENIENT PACKAGE

The SM7dB’s all-in-one design means no external equipment is needed to get professional results with any audio interface. Typical preamps found in today’s audio interfaces can introduce noise at higher gain settings. Discerning engineers have long turned to external mic boosters to get better signal-to-noise performance from microphones that require high preamp gain. The Shure SM7dB builds on technology licensed from Cloud Microphones to create the ultimate onboard mic booster for the SM7. Designed to deliver great results when used with virtually any microphone preamp, the SM7dB gives you easy access to the industry-standard sound for voice capture.

CLASSIC SM7 SOUND

The SM7dB contains the exact same capsule, filter circuitry, internal shock mounting and rear acoustic cavity as the SM7B. With the preamp set to bypass, it operates and sounds exactly like an SM7B. Along with the familiar mid boost and high-pass options from the original, the SM7dB’s high SPL handling makes it just as effective for loud and dynamic sources like kick drums, screaming vocals or instrument amplifiers. Its selectable gain settings let you to dial in the amount of coloration from tube or transformer preamps, or even drive them into saturation with the additional boost on tap.
