Vinyl Record Grading

Please refer to the “Item Specifics” section for the condition of each vinyl.

Mint (M)

Rarely graded here. If a record is Mint, it’s almost always sealed, brand new, and free of any visible or audible flaws.

Near Mint (NM)

Looks as if it just came from the record store and was opened for the first time. May have been played once or twice. Very clean, with no significant marks or wear.

Excellent (EX)

Light signs of wear such as faint surface scuffs, light scratches, or blemishes that do not affect playback. Minimal surface noise.

Jacket may show light ring wear, corner wear, small stickers, or writing (e.g., initials).

Very Good Plus (VG+)

Noticeable signs of use. Light scuffs or surface scratches may be present but shouldn’t impact sound quality significantly.

Jacket may include:

• Ring wear, shelf wear

• Seam splits

• Writing, names, creases

• Stickers, cut corners, or notches

Very Good (VG)

Obvious wear. Audible surface noise in some areas, along with clicks or pops, especially during quiet passages. Scratches may be felt with a fingernail.

Jacket may have:

• Pronounced ring wear

• Storage wear, seam splits

• Stickers, stains, discoloration, writing, and cuts

Good Plus (G+)

Heavy signs of wear. Surface noise throughout with more frequent clicks, pops, and crackle—but no skipping or locked grooves.

Jacket may be heavily worn with:

• Significant ring wear, seam splits, discoloration

• Stains, writing, and even missing sections

(Please review all photos closely.)

Good (G)

Major visible and audible flaws. Heavy surface noise and scratches. Often missing or marked inner sleeves.

(Please check the pictures very carefully before purchasing.)

Worn (W)

Severely worn records, often best used for display or decorative purposes.

(Not recommended for playback. Please view all photos carefully.)

Additional Notes

• All records are carefully inspected, but grading is subjective. Mistakes can happen, and we truly appreciate your understanding.

• Over 50% of our records are cleaned with an ultrasonic machine to reduce surface noise, clicks, and pops. Others are evaluated based on condition and may not require deep cleaning.

• We may tape or glue record jackets when necessary to preserve their integrity.

• We do our best to research every item, but most are estate or auction finds, so full history may not be known.

Please don’t hesitate to message us for additional photos, questions, or grading feedback — we’re happy to help!

Returns Policy

Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase. Items must be returned in the same condition received — unused, with original packaging (tags, labels, sleeves, etc.).

All returns are inspected for our security markings to verify authenticity.
