This is a Showa vintage  (c. 1960's) Kamakura bori  chopstick holder with long drawer and removeable interior  separation (see pictures).  It is intended to hold two sets of chopsticks.    Kamakura bori (carved eating bowls etc) are highly prized in Japan.  They are all hand carved in the village of Kamakura about an hour to the west of  Tokyo.  This chopstick holder has a carved bamboo and is coverd with several coats of red lacquer.  

this drawered holder measures  10" long by 2" wide and 1 1/2" tall   (25 x 5 x 4 cm). Note:  the chosticks seen in some pictures are for demonstration and not included in this listing.
