This is a charming and wonderfully kitsch original 1960s FRENCH bedside table lamp in the shape of a shell with a delightful interior fish seascape inside. The outside is glazed in shades of green. It comes with a small bulb and an old white plastic European 2-pin plug, it has a white flex but no switch.
These charming lamps are made in Vallauris in Southwest France, a town famous for its ceramics, this one has the word VALLAURIS engraved into the base. A marvellous and typically French vintage display item and delightful decorators piece. An ideal gift for anyone with a love of mid-century kitsch and possibly just the prop you need for a production set in the 1960s/70s or with a kitsch vintage scene.
In VERY GOOD vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Its rare to find one with no damage to the little ceramic fish and coral parts inside. As you can see in the photos it is in working order. The current wiring has a French 2 pin plug, so will need an adapter, or a simple re-wire if you wish to use it in the USA or UK.
