Handpainted in traditional imari palette colors that include overglaze cobalt, iron red, green and black with gilt highlights

Center medallion features floral arrangement within a pastoral motif

Rim features flying songbird amid stylized clouds and blooming flora

Underside decorated with Buddhist symbols

Outer footrim has two parallel cobalt bands. Inner footrim has a single cobalt band.

Circa 1880s, during the Meiji period (1868-1911)
