Hand-forged ratcheting brace drill featuring a compound crank design with dual turned wood grips and a rotating palm head. The steel frame forms a sweeping angular profile, engineered for leverage and controlled torque, while the exposed ratcheting gear mechanism at the center allows directional drilling without repositioning the tool. The chuck retains its original knurled collar, designed to accept square-taper bits typical of early woodworking sets. Dark-stained wooden handles show ergonomic shaping and age-softened edges, contrasting against the oxidized steel frame.

Shows heavy surface wear including oxidation throughout the steel components, patina and finish loss on wood handles, and general age-related wear to the chuck and gearing. Mechanism appears intact but untested.
