c. 1920s-1930s; The Fyr-Fyter Company - Dayton, Ohio

Tall cylindrical copper fire extinguisher with riveted body and domed top, featuring a cast protective handle ring and side-mounted discharge outlet (hose absent). The front retains a detailed embossed panel reading "Model X Instant Loaded Stream Anti-Freeze Fyr-Fyter," along with instructions including "FOR FIRE TURN BOTTOM UP AND BUMP DOWN." The body shows a vertical riveted seam and reinforced lower collar, with a rich surface patina of oxidized copper, scattered verdigris, and remnants of red-painted finish. The "Instant" designation reflects an evolution in early fire extinguisher technology, emphasizing faster deployment and improved chemical delivery systems compared to earlier soda-acid models.

Shows heavy wear consistent with age and use including oxidation, surface corrosion, paint loss, and verdigris throughout. Embossed lettering remains legible though softened. Discharge hose is missing. Untested and sold as a display piece.
