A necklace from my mother's antique Turkoman jewelry collection.  Most likely from the late 19th Century. The horse is coin silver gilt with beautifully detailed gold decoration typical of the Turkoman style. The horse is adorned with four flat-topped carnelians. The necklace is a rope chain with a hook clasp that appears to be original. There are four dangles coming from the horses feet but it appears that there used to be an additional dangle for the tail that is now missing.  Otherwise the necklace seems to be in good condition for its age.  The rope necklace is 22 inches long and the horse pendant with dangles about three inches long.  The necklace with pendant weighs 21 g. Turkoman jewelry is from Turkmenistan or Afghanistan.
