Antique Staffordshire Blue Transfer Plate, VILLAGERS Pattern, Davenport, VILLAGERS Pattern, John Davenport,  Longport, England, c. 1815 - 1830. This is one of the finest Staffordshire plates I have ever been able to offer for sale. The central transfer is a village scene with a church tower in the background. In the foreground a boy is blowing bubbles from a pipe, watched by a standing woman and a sprawling child, while a dog looks on. The border is a floral scroll design. The plate has an impressed anchor mark with "DAVENPORT" on the underside.  This is a beautiful Staffordshire plate in exceptional condition, offered here at a low price!
