When to replace car starter motor:

  • 1. Difficulty Starting: Difficulty starting the car, requiring multiple attempts before it successfully starts.

  • Q1: The car has a new starter but won't start and makes a clicking sound.
  • A1: In this situation, we must consider whether the fuel pump is damaged. A damaged fuel pump can cause a lack of fuel pressure during startup, resulting in the vehicle not starting.
  • Q2: After replacing the starter with a new one, there is still a lot of noise.
  • A2: The old starter damaged some teeth on the flywheel ring gear. So when we install a new starter, it may not fit perfectly with the ring gear, resulting in loud noise and difficulty starting. When replacing the starter, it is recommended to check the flywheel ring gear; otherwise, the new starter may not last long either.
  • Q3: After replacing the car starter, the car won't start.
  • A3: If the car battery is low, the car may not start. If the battery is not the issue, it is likely a problem with the ignition system. Insufficient voltage from the battery can also make it difficult to start the car.
