This is a really nice USAAF A-2 flight jacket made by AERO Leather Clothing Company in Scotland, U.K. An exact replica of the Bronco Mfg. Corp. Contract No. W535A.C. 29191 of 1942.

The shell is made of horsehide leather in a gorgeous dark seal tone and has a beautiful tan cotton liner. The knit waistband and cuffs come in light brown wool and are in excellent condition, maintaining full elasticity. The collar does not have a stand which was typical of later A-2 jacket models. All the manufacturing details faithfully represent the original Bronco 29191 design, including its trimmer body construction and fitted shoulders. It also comes with a deadstock TALON zipper identical to the ones seen in original A-2 jackets of this contract.

The jacket is in an excellent, new condition, with only a few tiny stich markings and a small paint peel present on the back, where a leather blood-chit was removed. The jacket does not show any other defects.

The jacket is decorated with a catchy theme of the 490th Bomb Squadron, 341st Bomb Group - "Burma Bridge Buster," who flew B-25 bombers in the China-Burma-India (CBI) theatre during WWII.

Accurate period decorations include:

- Inspector and USAAF stamps on the liner

- USAAF layered leather roundel patch on the right arm

- CBI layered leather patch on the left arm

- Hand painted leather patch of the 490th BS, 341st BG - "Burma Bridge Busters"

The jacket is true-to-vintage fit and comes in a large size 44 with the following dimensions:

Armpit Width: 23 in.

Sleeve Length (end of shoulder to end of leather): 26 in.

Back Length (bottom of neck to end of the leather): 25 in.

Shoulder Width: 19 in.

The snugger characteristics of the Bronco A-2 would probably make this jacket fitter on a size 42 person.

The jacket was acquired in 2024 from AERO Leather in Scotland and has seen no use since then; having been kept in cool, dry storage. It comes with its original AERO Leather manufacturer’s tags.

I am asking a fixed price considering its overall excellent condition. However, a reasonable offer will be considered. Shipping is insured to anywhere in the world.

A superb collector’s item ready for display or wear. Please write if you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them before you commit. You will not be disappointed with this beautiful and classic aviation garment.
