Antique Cylinder Swiss Music Box

19th century No: 56668. Playing eight airs within a rosewood and grained decorative case.

Working movement. The crank handle works and powers the cylinder through the eight airs. The internal cylinder spring winds fully with good resistance.  The movement appears to be clean and lubricated. The governor does not start automatically. It runs when you give it a gentle flick with your finger. It then plays and stops accordingly. The comb is missing one tooth

The case is presentable and quite clean. With some light wear on the edges. Original play sheet on the internal lid. Glazed internal ebonised window. With an earlier antique dealers label in blue: Peter Harding, 93 Hornsey Road, London, N7, Furnishing Antiques, Musical Boxes, Collectable Items.

51 cm x 22 cm x 15 cm (height)

Please note I am not a 'musical box expert or collector'. I have endeavoured to describe the box to the best of my observatory ability. It may still require professional servicing and attention. I am also offering a second antique music box for sale. Please see my listings.
