This is an original OEM Mercruiser Alpha One Generation 1 Propeller Shaft and Clutch Dog Assembly (Part #44-824110 / 853594T). This genuine factory component was removed from a clean, dry-stored freshwater machine and has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. This assembly is the final drive stage of the lower unit, responsible for transferring rotational power to the propeller and engaging the forward and reverse gear circuits.
As a part from a well-maintained trail machine (freshwater use), this assembly is in excellent functional condition. The propeller shaft has been checked for "runout" to ensure it is perfectly straight and has no wobbles from previous prop impacts. The 15-tooth (T15) clutch engagement area and the T46 (often referencing the specific gear set compatibility) have been meticulously inspected. The engagement teeth on the clutch dog show no signs of "rounding" or mushrooming, which is the primary cause of a drive "jumping" out of gear under acceleration.
