1943 Press Photo Oslofjord, pride of the Norwegian merchant marine in Amsterdam

This is an original press photo. Pride of the Norwegian merchant marine is the new Oslofjord, 16,500 ton motorship being rushed to completion in the outfitting basin at Amsterdam. The ship will make its trial run Oct. 14 from Amsterdam to Lands End, England, and return. Maiden voyage is scheduled for Nov. 26 from Norway to New York in the service of the Norwegian-American Line. It will be able to carry 300 passengers first class and 400 tourist class. It is expected to be the fastest ship in operation between New York and Scandinavia.Photo measures 10 x 7.25inches. Photo is dated 9-26-1943.
