This Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 control pod is in excellent working condition. It originally came as part of Klipsch's ProMedia 5.1 THX Personal Audio System, produced from 2001 to 2003 and still enjoyed by many owners. The original control to adjust volume level tends to degrade and become non-responsive or erratic, causing the volume to jump or go in the opposite direction from how the control knob is being rotated. A new digital rotary encoder has been installed.  This pod has a new nine-pin mini-DIN plug to connect to the ProMedia 5.1 subwoofer's rear plate, where the amplifier is located. The new plug is pre-molded to a short cable, which has been spliced (soldered) and triple-insulated with heat-shrink tubing (see photos).

     The side of the pod has two 3.5mm stereo jacks: one for headphones, and the other for auxiliary input. The auxiliary input feeds signal to the front two channels with +3 dB boost compared to the similar front channel (green) input jack on the ProMedia amplifier.  

    This pod is also compatible with the ProMedia Ultra 5.1, which was made from 2004 to 2008. (The Ultra version comes with a silver, horizontal control box, instead of a vertical black pod. The Ultra version has a single knob to make all adjustments, selectable by switches, rather than independent encoders).
