For sale is STAN GETZ' "Sweet Rain," on Verve V6-8693, RVG, Gatefold, 1967. With Chick Corea, Ron Carter, Grady Tate.
SOUND: EX-NM
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Plays significantly better than it looks! There are one or two brief instances of light noise, intermittent and very easy to ignore. The vast majority of the playback is crystal clear, a beautiful listen!
VINYL: VG+
There are light play-marks on either side, completely superficial and routine. The vinyl is very glossy and clean. VAN GELDER stamps in run-outs.
JACKET: G+
Maybe a little harsh on the grade, just being conservative. Middle of spine is split, plus one-half of top right sleeve. All else is solid. Routine ring-wear. Radio-station notes on front cover in marker. Inclludes original Verve inner-sleeve.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
Original 1967 RVG press. The jacket is a little beat up, but with character! The vinyl plays beautifully. Good value for $24.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. When play-tested, I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
