Offered for sale is a vintage Penn 49 Super Mariner reel, in good, clean condition.  The Super Mariner has a 3.5:1 retrieve, two ball bearings, a star-drag wheel, and weighs 30 oz.  The aluminum spool will hold 300 yards of 30# mono for bottom fishing, but is often filled with wire line for trolling. The reel is designed with a narrower frame than Penn's Senator series reels to resist twisting under heavy cranking when fighting large fish.  There are some areas of light corrosion, so please examine the photos carefully.  Overall, the reel is in very good condition, and all features work smoothly.
