Please note: this watch is being sold with its original Hamilton signed bracelet that is fully adjustable and functional, but the watch does NOT have a case back- it got lost before the watch got into my hands. Figuring that I nothing to lose, I put a new 371 battery cell into the watch and the movement started right up ticking. I set the watch to run for about a day and came back and it had stopped before the end of the test. I did note early on after I initially set the watch that it seemed to be keeping good time over the short term. I have since noticed that the watch has stopped and re-started itself at least a couple of times while in my inventory.
The power plant of this watch is an ETA 955 121 that has 7 Jewels, arguably the best movement ETA ever made. It likely needs some cleaning and oiling to stay running all the time. I do note that while setting the time forward for a day that the date indicator does not advance but the day indicator does properly advance. Both indicators quick set properly as they should,. So there Is an issue with the date indicator. The octagonal shaped bezel case measures 31.6mm wide from 9:00 to 3:00 not including the stem or signed yellow 3.8mm wide crown. The bezel is in at least “very good plus” cosmetic grade with little wear to the gold plated finish. The bracelet shows more wear than the watch and is fully functional and adjustable, and could fit up to an 8 ½ inch wrist. The DIAL looks fantastic and it and the hands rate NEAR MINT cosmetic grade. Lug width is 18.1mm. This would be a fantastic watch if you could find the snap down case back to it, or a similar period Hamilton that fits! NO RESERVE!!
