RARE Vintage Salt & Pepper Shaker Set "Heckle & Jeckle" Cartoon Character Crows with Feather Tails#H719 printed on bottoms.  One has original Tag "From Norcrest Furland" "May I Be Your Pal".  These guys are wearing hats on their heads and spats on their feet, and have real feather tails. Great vintage condition.  A paint skip and glaze skip on the crow with the pink hat as shown. I see no chips or repairs.  I noticed  a black line on the crow with the Tag down by his shoes, but it was just black paint transfer.  They have older rubber plugs in the holes (probably brittle from age) and are marked and numbered H719.

Please Note: The items I sell are old (vintage) and most have been previously used at some point in time. They may show minor signs of wear such as light scratches, fading (color, maker's marks, patterns).  Sometimes dust/debris can be on/in an item if we choose not to risk cleaning the item. Ceramics & porcelain do craze; this is a natural part of their life and is not damage. We do our best to take accurate pictures however lighting and angles can slightly affect the shade of color on items. Please see listing for description, pictures and notes of any significant damage if present. Please ask all questions before bidding/buying.

Matching sets of salt and pepper shakers where first introduced in the 19th century and became the most popular souvenir merchandise from 1920-1960. With Morten's addition of an anti-caking salt agent in the early 1920s previously open salt dips or cellars with tiny spoons almost became obsolete. Salt and pepper shakers began being produced after WWII in Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan and the United States. All salt and pepper shakers are not created equal; there are anthros that have human faces but not human bodies, go-togethers which are not identical but have a common theme, hangers or nodders that hang off a base, kissers that give the appearance of kissing (usually magnetized), nesters which one fits into an indentation on the other, and last but never least stackers that fit one on top of the other.
