Description

Basil (Chavicol) oil is a member of the Lamiaceae family. This oil emits a warm, sweet, freshly floral and crisply herbaceous scent. It is classed as a top note and blends well with citrus, herby, minty and woodsy oils. 

Basil is reputed to stimulate, clarify, calm, fortify, energize and uplift the mind. It is also said to repel insects, eliminate odour-causing bacteria, soothe headaches, and relieve respiratory as well as digestive discomforts. 

Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
