Police & organizational details

Irish Police Games medals from the early 1980s–1980s period, especially those produced by Euro-TAB Ltd. of Dublin, are increasingly difficult to locate. Sets that include multiple years, different sports, a matching enamel pin, and confirmed Irish maker provenance are particularly desirable to Garda Síochána, Irish police, and Police Games collectors.

• Both medals feature a “D.M.A.” banner at the top

• Front text includes “COISTE ROINNE” (Irish/Gaelic wording associated with committee/section designation)

• Central castle/fortress shield emblem consistent with Irish heraldic imagery

• Celtic cross-style layout with enamel accents

• These are Police Games awards/committee medals, not souvenir items

Approximate size

• Medals: approx. 2.25–2.5 inches tall including suspension loop

• Enamel pin: approx. 1 inch

Condition

• Overall very good vintage condition

• Expected age-related wear from storage and handling

• 1984 Swimming gold medal shows visible vintage patina and surface lines (clearly shown in photos)

• Enamel remains intact with strong color

• Original hanging rings intact; no repairs

Collector significance

Irish Police Games medals are far less common than later World Police & Fire Games items, especially earlier examples such as the 1984 Swimming medal. Sets spanning multiple years and events are particularly desirable for:

• Garda Síochána collectors

• Irish law enforcement memorabilia collectors

• Police athletic / Police Games historians
