Super important: Touch ID is not working / broken.

I've no idea how or when, but the touch ID fingerprint button isn’t working any more. It still works as a lock/power button, but no longer recognises fingerprints. iPadOS just says “touch ID is unavailable”. It’s possible this is mendable/replaceable, but for our purposes I’m selling it with the proviso it’s all good except for touch ID.

iPad 5th Generation M1 Processor

The device is in good shape (other than the touchID button). There are no obvious scratches on the screen, even if a ton of fingerprints! Screen is responsive, no dead pixels, battery holds a charge well without any warnings. I’ll wipe it and detach it from Apple Cloud before sending.

All-round it is a marvellous tablet, great for work, browsing, and games.

Apple Keyboard

Included is the genuine Apple Keyboard with touchpad, backlit, etc. in British English. Keyboard folds up to be a handy-dandy little case. All working, no issues, just some cosmetic marks on the outside. Maybe some rubbing alchohol with remove them, but let’s not assume so – case is good, it just has a bunch of white marks on the outside. Make sure to look over the photos.

Apple Pencil

This is the 2nd Gen Apple Pencil that works with this iPad. It does handwriting recognition (AKA ‘scribble’), drawing, pressure-sensitive and all that good stuff. Pencil charges quickly and holds a charge fine. It attaches magnetically to the side of the iPad for charging and storage.

Remarks

This has been my companion for a couple of years now, and I use it for writing and marking up documents. Unfortunately, iPadOS has gotten to the point (for me) that it’s not really good enough for that. I’m sick of scribbling notes on a PDF and then accidentally sending it scrolling up to the top! Or trying to click the 'next' button in search but somehow minimising/maximising the window. UGH. So, since what I want is basically digital notepaper, I’ve purposely downgraded to the Nomad e-ink tablet; it’s way less feature-ful, but does exactly what I want.

There's a good chance most of the cosmetic stuff on the case can be removed, or at least covered up. It’s also possible that the faulty touch ID can be mended or replaced, either officially or unofficially, but I’m selling it as-is without that assurance. I can tell you it’s a dang good little tablet, charges, works, and if anything happens to render it dead-on-arrival I’ll have it straight back and send you a full refund.

Check my feedback, I’m just a normal private seller; not some online shop or a fly-by-night fleamarketeer 😁 any questions pls ask.
