Vintage Schrade Walden (USA) #163 Rope Knife
This item is a vintage Schrade Walden (USA) #163 Rope Knife. This knife has the Schrade Walden tang stamp, so it was made between 1958 and 1974 when the Walden name was dropped from the tang stamp. This was an apparent advertising knife as seen by the "Cordage Group" stamp on the side. The Cordage Group was a division of the Columbian Rope Company located in Auburn, New York. The blade was designed to cut rope and twine. There is some light spotting on the blade. There does not appear to be any wear on the blade itself. The snap is very strong. This was found in my father's collectables, so I suspect it was never used as intended since he typically did not use the items he collected. Very good condition especially for a vintage knife. Please see photos for condition and size.
