Early 1970's (or late 1960's) Pan Am promotional flight bag featuring a unique USA-Germany Flags Illustration. This rare variant was likely issued for a cultural exchange or "Friendship" event during the height of Pan Am’s German operations. The text on this logo translates to: Association of Friends in the USA, based in Speyer, Germany (Verein der Freunde in den USA e.V. Sitz Speyer/Rh)

The travel bag includes an attached laminated business card / tag for a U.S. based Branch Manager at Swiss transport and logistics company Kuehne & Nagel, Inc. (personal info on card pixelated in photo). This adds to the providence of this Cold War era bag.

Even without the West Germany connection, this iconic blue Pan Am logo bag resembles those carried by dignitaries, actors, and long-haired rock bands in the 60's and 70's era.

Condition: Completely function with several signs of age and use (dark staining/grease marks, fabric snags, and frays on the strap edges) lending to its authenticity. On the positive side, no tears, hole, or unpleasant smells (has light scent of cologne) and the inside is generally clean. The zipper works smoothly, white piping is intact and the bottom metal feet are secure. The white piping has some typical discolored spots and scuffs, and the interior shows light dust and wear from storage. I believe this shows well over all. Please zoom in on the high-resolution photos to evaluate specific wear.

Shipping: Items are carefully padded and packed to survive shipping. Upgraded service and insurance provided as feasible. Certain locations (such as HI or AK) or P.O. boxes may incur additional cost. Contact me for details or with any specific shipping needs.

Returns: Used items naturally show wear or other signs of prior use. Please review the listing and photos closely to assess condition. To keep prices low, I'm unable to accept returns unless an item significantly differs from the description. Message me with any questions PRIOR to purchase.
