This is a lovely item - a solid sterling silver hand bell. 

It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1968 with the maker's mark of J B Chatterley & Sons Ltd. The bone handle is well attached and the clapper is also hallmarked for sterling silver, which shows the quality of the manufacture.  There are two splits in the handle, which can be felt but which do not impact the usage or ring of the bell.
