The 280mm x 228mm mount is the largest format produced by Showgard. Often referred to as a "Full Page" mount or "Press Sheet" mount, it is designed for items that exceed the dimensions of the standard 264mm Accommodation Range. With its Black Backing, it provides a massive, professional frame for expansive philatelic items.
Unlike the strips you have looked at previously, these are sold as large, singular rectangular sleeves meant for "over-sized" items that require maximum coverage.
This size is the industry standard for:
Modern U.S. Press Sheets: Specifically individual panes or sections of press sheets that are taller or wider than standard.
Large International Miniature Sheets: Oversized items from China, Russia, or the UN that are exceptionally wide.
Large Souvenir Sheetlets: Items that take up nearly an entire standard 8.5" x 11" album page.
Historical Documents: High-value covers or documents that require archival-grade protection.
Maximum Surface Coverage: At 280mm (approx. 11 inches) wide and 228mm (approx. 9 inches) tall, this mount provides enough room to house items that are traditionally difficult to store.
Archival Safety: Made from 100% oriented polystyrene, ensuring that even large-format items with high gum surface area are protected from chemical toning, yellowing, or sticking.
Heavy-Duty Construction: To support the weight of a full-page item, the welds are reinforced. The black background provides a museum-quality "matting" effect.
Patented Twin-Web Design: Even at this size, it uses the top and bottom seam design to allow air to circulate while keeping the item securely centered through tension.

Adhesion Strategy: Due to the extreme weight of a 280mm x 228mm mount and its contents, standard album pages may not be sufficient. We recommend using extra-heavyweight cardstock (100lb or higher).
When mounting, moisten the entire top gummed strip. Press it firmly to the page and place it under a flat, heavy object (like a stack of large books) for at least one hour. This ensures the "hinge" is strong enough to support the weight when the album is placed vertically on a shelf.
While the 264mm Accommodation Range strips you previously reviewed are 10.4 inches long and come in varying heights, this 280mm x 228mm format is roughly 11 inches wide and 9 inches tall. It is the only option when your item is wider than 10.4 inches.
