Large Format 'Push-On' Lens Caps - Inner Diameter - 37mm 42mm 48mm 51mm 54mm 60mm 70mm 75mm 80mm 85mm - Available as 'Plain', with 'Writable Label' or with 'Custom Specification Label' Large format 'push-on' lens caps in a variety of common sizes that are 3D printed using TPU 3D printing filament, which is slightly flexible but strong and of a similar physical nature to the slightly flexible plastic used to make the Rodenstock/Schneider/Fujinon/Nikon etc large format push-on caps. General Cap fitting Specifications: 37mm Cap fits a lens with a 37mm rear outer barrel 42mm Cap fits a lens with a 40.5mm filter thread and 42mm outer barrel 48mm Cap fits a lens with a 46mm filter thread and 48mm outer barrel 51mm Cap fits a lens with a 49mm filter thread and 51mm outer barrel 54mm Cap fits a lens with a 52mm filter thread and 54mm outer barrel 60mm Cap fits a lens with a 58mm filter thread and 60mm outer barrel 70mm Cap fits a lens with a 67mm filter thread and 70mm outer barrel 75mm Cap fits a lens with a 72mm filter thread and 75mm outer barrel 80mm Cap fits a lens with a 77mm filter thread and 80mm outer barrel 85mm Cap fits a lens with a 82mm filter thread and 85mm outer barrel The caps are available in three designs: 'Plain' - the lens cap top surface has been left plain (the only option for the 37mm cap) 'Writable Label' - the lens cap top surface has a white glossy label designed in to it, that can be written on with a permanent pen like a Sharpie and wiped off again with alcohol - just like a dry-wipe board, you choose what information and write on it yourself 'Custom Specification Label' - the lens cap top surface has a matte black label with white writing designed in to it, listing a selection of the lens specifications - lens type name, focal length and maximum aperture, image circle at working aperture at infinity, and maximum vertical rise and horizontal shift for a range of common film formats (in horizontal/landscape film format) for that image circle. This is information is useful, not only to identify the lens if you have many lenses with similar cap sizes, but also as a reminder of the limitations of the lens projected image circle when using rise or shift camera movements with different film formats. Once purchased, message us with details of the lens you want the cap/label for and if it is a common Rodenstock, Schneider, Fujinon, Nikon etc lens, we will have the lens data for it. If it is an uncommon lens, we will need you to supply its name, maximum aperture and its image circle at working aperture (most likely f22). We have a spreadsheet, base on Rodenstock's calculations, that then works out the maximum rise and shift it can achieve for the common formats from 8x10" to 6x6cm and we will list this information on the label, starting from the maximum format the lens will cover - see screen grab of the spreadsheet to show how it works. Also indicate if you are interested in European (example 18x24mm) or UK/US (example 8x10") film formats or both on the label. Depending on the size of the cap, the custom specification labels are different sizes and therefore contain more or less information - there is an example shown with each size cap - 60-85mm caps have 5 rows, 54-42mm caps have 3 rows, with the 42mm cap being condensed information. Note: The lenses in the images are not included in this listing and are there to illustrate purpose.
The caps are printed in Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) with properties, including moderate flexibility, resistance to oil, grease, and abrasion - feels slightly soft to the hand, but not as soft as rubber. It is printed using the finest print settings (each takes 3 hours to print) however it may have small marks here and there from the 3D printing process as the printer layers the molten flexible TPU filament on to the printers bed surface, layer by layer, but these will not effect the functionality. The cap labels are printed with a high resolution Brother P-touch label printer on to genuine Brother laminated tape - Brother TZe tapes have been rigorously tested to stand up to even the most unforgiving conditions. With excellent resistance to water, abrasion, chemicals and temperature extremes. | ||||||||
