Rolf Gjedsted (born on 24th February 1947, died on 18 July 2022 [1]) was a Danish writer and visual artist.
Rolf Gjedsted grew up in Vanløse and started drawing and writing early on. At the age of 13 he moved to Vejle Idræthøjskole with his mother and stepfather, where the stepfather became headmaster. Here he could try in various sports, among other things riding and martial arts, but at the same time he began to write and paint poems.

He returned to the capital and visited the Sankt Annæ Gymnasium in a class with the actor Jesper Christensen and the musician Anders Koppel, played the guitar himself and was interested in the new music, not least for The Doors, which he met in his function as a musician and book reviewer in policies. Was a regular author at Superlove, a magazine on beat culture that was published for three years from 1968 to 1970. Worked for several years at DR with Jørgen Gustava Brandt and Uffe Harder and made radio programs about writers and painters, e.g. Degas, van Gogh, Gauguin, Lautreamont, Rimbaud, de Quince, PoE and others. ... Publisher of the Atlantis series, which dealt with Alchemy and occult topics for the publisher Thaning & Appel. In cooperation with Ingolf Gabold as a composer for Danmarks radio, he wrote two choral works: "Written in Sand" and "Atlantis".

Married and got a son, Daniel, but soon became a single father. Soon afterwards he published his first book at the age of 21: English. Through a relationship with Anne Wivel, he came into contact with several visual artists from the academy, in which Anne took part, including Niels Reumert, with whom he created two lithographic works: "A wall from fishing" and "the journey to America". In cooperation with the painter Wilhelm Freddie and Per Kirkeby, who designed several of his book envelopes ...

Lived with the painter Ulla Chemnitz for many years and worked on horses, raku burns, exhibitions and children's books.

Since the 1980s, Rolf Gjedsted has been pressing in addition to his extensive writings in fine art, painting, sculptures and pottery. He issued several of these works and also carried out several decorative work, e.g. To the art museum of West Jutland, the Finance Council, Friisberg & Partners and the Skodsborg Sanatorium as well as the Nyhavns Caféen Nyhavn 33 ST. .

In addition to his artistic work, he dealt with martial arts, gallop horses and Icelandic horses, about which he also wrote books.
